Your thoughts on this trade?? A-gone for Johan....?

ROTO league and I have Dunn and Loney as my first basemen...

I have Halladay, King Felix, Santana, Liriano, Weaver, Hanson and Slowery for my SP so I still have 2 of the games best SP with solid contributors otherwise...

So, I'm giving up Santana for Adrian Gonzo (he offered this trade and I immediately accepted.)

(He's got Fielder too)

Who won this trade?

This trade certainly favors you. Since you are in a Roto league as opposed to a H2head league, you can only "Win" your pitching categories. If you demolish the other owners in your league by say 20%, then you still only receive 10 pts (less or more depending on your league size). If you can still win and earn your 10 pts while beefing up some other categories, which I believe you have done here, then you almost have to try to accomplish that.

Adrian Gonzalez is a definite upgrade to Dunn and Loney. Zimmerman has become the offensive leader on Washington as Dunn is beginning his decent. Loney is Loney... .290-310 avg, 10-18 HR, 70-90 RBI. Very serviceable, but not Adrian Gonzalez and certainly not Adrian's untapped potential.

Santana is a tough one to give up but with your impressive stable of Halladay, King Felix, Hanson and the re-emerging Liriano, you will be more than fine. I believe you have the front runners for both the NL and AL Cy Young award in 2010.

One last thought - you also achieved an addition by subtraction by weakening a perceived strength of your opponent. Having Fielder and Gonzalez on the same team all but guarantees 80HR and 220RBI from two players. You have torn down one pillar of his team while not destroying yours (SP's) in the process. Nicely done.

    Winner - You

Hope this helps. Good Luck this season.

    No one wins a trade.

If you really wanted an opinion on who upgraded their team the most, I'd need to know what pitcher is no longer in his lineup now that Santana is in, and what hitter is now in his lineup since he traded Gonzalez.

You didn't tell me what pitcher you'll now be using, nor did you tell me what hitter is now in your lineup that wasn't before (for all I know you had Dunn in OF and Loney in UTL already)

So, bascially you've told us nothing in order to judge "who wins"

Seems like a fine trade for you though.

i think its almost lopsided A GO is a def upgrade from dunn. and looking at the rest of your pitchers i think you are set there. santana can only be as good as the team he plays for. gonzales controls his own destiny and is also very rarely hurt
