Where is my DVD driver?!!!!!!!!!!! Its totally missing!!!!?

I own a Toshiba Satellite U300 with a MATSHITA DVD RAM 852s,

I opened 'My Computer' and the DVD Drive which is usually named as 'DVD DRIVE: E' was missing. Then I checked my 'Hardware Manager' and searched for the DVD Drive and it specified it as 'uninstalled' or 'missing' or whatever it is. I couldnt find the driver on the net. I would be appreciated if u could specify me some download links where I can download it from.

Thanks..............:) PEACE v

This is usually a Windows problem.

Open Device Manager, right-click and then click Uninstall

    Reboot the computer

Windows SHOULD automatically reinstall the drive and the drive should work

If it doesn't the drive may be bad, or Windows may have a fundamental error.

Also, try right-clicking on My Computer and clicking Manage

Then, on the left side, find and click on Disk Management. The DVD should be listed as something like

    CD-ROM 0

    DVD (D:)

You could try right-click on that text and clicking Initialize -
