Dance team or Cheer Team?
No rude comments!!!!! No saying I shouldn't join cheer if you don't like cheerleaders!!! Actually take into account what I'm saying!!!!!
I am a dancer and gymnast! Tryouts for dance and cheer at school are both in 1 mth and let's just say I have everything I need to be able to do for both! My dream is to be a singer/pianist (musician!) Basically, I enjoy performing! I sort of want dance team more because dance could give me more performing opportunities and experience! Also, I also think I might want to go into modeling because a lot of people think I look like one and I am super tall and thin with a strong face and large eyes! I am very much into fashion! I think my muscles from gymnastics are killing my chance because I gained a lot of muscle especially this year and even though I didn't gain fat, I don't look model like anymore!! That's why I think dance would be better so I could tone down the muscular look! I also think cheer would be fun and I always wanted to be a cheerleader! I am really girly so it fits my personality, and a lot of my friends are cheerleaders!!! I am sort of confused with what I want!

well just because your friends are in cheer you shouldn't let that influence your decision I'm pretty sure you've heard of the term peer pressure, anyway if you do gymnastics, a lot of girls who do gymnastics make great cheerleaders so you should acell at varsity yell they do a lot of tumbling and stunts, or if you like to dance try varsity song because they do a lot of dancing and choreography, but you can also do that in dance team, I think most importantly you should do what you feel is right, also if you are an underclassman try dance team 1 year and then try cheer the next year that way you do both and won't have to give up either

Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. If you don't like the cheer part, then you should join the dance team. Maybe you can suggest to the dance team captain about including tumbling as part of the choreography? The dance team may offer some more opportunities for you, and you can learn a lot of new and different routines.

ive been dance for almost 8 yrs. it looks too me like your ur built for dancing ur muslces wont tone done because i need them for leaps and high kicks, but to be honest ur gymnist skills can be used with and for dance. besides u like performing cheer only competes in high school and college, wen ur out of school can still dance ur butt off. trust dance is better for you body type.
