magic the gathering: summon knight, rat, etc considered creature? and other mtg questions?

my friend has a bunch of black summon _____(knight, rats, goblins, etc) and they were from one of the very first editions and he says that they aren't considered creatures, since it does not say "creatures." i have the false prophet card which destroys all creatures when it goes to the graveyard, and he said it doesn't count. I'm pretty sure summon ____ are what you used to call creatures in the older editions. help me out please?

note: i just started playing so sorry if i explained wrong

also, while we're on the subject of mtg..

1) when you summon creatures, can they block on the same turn?

2) if i don't draw any lands for a certain amount of turns, is there a rule saying i can search through my library for a land card?

3) can i only do the mulligan thing at the very beginning of the game?

Yes, summon whatever was what they called creatures back in the day. I'm sure if that's all you have your friends won't have a problem with you playing those cards.

    1. Yes, you can block with a creature on the turn they are summoned. Winged Coatl is a great example of that. It has flash, flying, and deathtouch so you can cast it to block your opponents big bad flyer and kill it with a 1/1.

    2. Unfortunately, no. That's what we call being "mana screwed." Either your land count isn't right, you don't have enough land search, or you just got screwed. It's a game and you really can't do stuff like that.

    3. Yes, you can mulligan down to one card if you so desire. I try to only do it if I do not have two lands in my hand because hoping for a perfect hand doesn't work as your hand decreases via mulliganing.

a million: do artifacts creatures have summoning illness confident - all creatures have summoning illness except otherwise stated on the cardboard or if another spell/skill variations that 2: if I even have 2 lives left and my opponent assaults me with 3 2/2s and that i can only block with 2 2/2s, what occurs if the two my creatures have lifelink? do I earnings 4 lives first or do I die All injury to creatures and gamers is dealt concurrently. as quickly as injury is on the stack (yet no longer yet dealt), this is your final possibility to do some thing before it resolves. in case you could no longer do something, that's what occurs: Your 2 creatures the two take injury (2 factors each and each) and deal injury (2 factors each and each). Their lifelinking skill is going on the stack. notwithstanding, considering the fact which you have additionally taken 2 injury, you die and the lifelink skill fizzles. Couple procedures around this - if one among your blocking off creatures had first strike or double strike, they might deal injury first, putting lifelink on the stack. that would make certain before usual injury, leaving you at 4 existence (and killing the different creature with a bit of luck). Then usual injury occurs so which you're taking 2 and take 2 for the different lifelink, leaving you at 4. yet in a diverse thank you to stay with the aid of that's in case you have a thank you to earnings existence, which comprise healing Salve. You play it before injury resolves, and stay...

You are right. They used to be called that. However, they ARE considered creatures. So your card would affect them.

    Furthermore...

    1) Yes, summoning sickness does not affect blocking because blocking does not require tapping.

    2) No. That's just called being in a mana drought or mana screwed...

    3) Yes. Though you can do it more than once...
