Why won't my dog turn his head to the right?
My dog is a Golden Retriever and is about to turn 11 in October and he sometimes he refuses to turn his head to the right with out moving his neck or whole body. he walks around drooping his head and limps a bit on the his left paw. We have taken him to the vet several times but they do not know what to do or what is wrong, So that's why I'm asking you. If you have any links on what could possibly be wrong or any comments that would be helpful it is greatly appreciated here.

He could have calcium deposits on his neck or spine, or he very well could have his spine out of alignment. If you find a vet who does chiropractic on dogs, if that's his problem, they can help him. All 3 of my greyhounds have had repeated chiro treatments and they keep them pain free. Chiro for dogs is gentle, no pain for the dog at all.

He could possibly have had an ITA - Ischaemic transient attack - which is a slight stroke and this may be affecting his balance. It could be a trapped nerve or simply that he is suffering from arthritis.
I think you need to badger your Vet to do some more tests to determine the cause for this and perhaps ask him to do an xray. There is evidently something wrong and it needs to be investigated in order that the dog can have a good quality of life.
You could also ask your Vet to check his ears - he may have an ear infection which is causing him
to hold his head over to one side.
There are so many reasons for your dog's behaviour but only a series of tests will truly reveal the cause.
Good luck with him. I hope you will soon find the cause of his problem.

Often small dogs like yorkies can get joint problems like arthritis. Perhaps he has a neck problem, arthritis or muscle problems. Either way, go to the vet and they will check her over. If she shakes when you touch her this could mean she is in pain, so get her checked as soon as possible. It doesn't sound serious, but it is still important for your dog to be comfortable.
