How come my friend start her period before me even though...

Her: her mom started her period at 18; she doen't shave her pits or legs (and doen't need to); she wears sports bras in gymnastics that she is at 5 days a week

Me: my mom started her period at 16; i shave my legs and pits (and need to); only wears a bra for a gymnastics meet, and i do gymnastics and dance for less hours than she does

its not that big of a deal but i want to know if there is something wrong with me

It really doesn't depend on the mom, well maybe a little. Exercising doesn't play a huge role either. 
My mom started hers at 16, I started mine at 10 :/
So just don't worry about it, it will come soon, or if you're still worried and want it to come faster, talk to your doctor.
Enjoy it while mother nature takes a longer time to get to you(:

There is nothing wrong with you. You will not always be the same as your mom. Your body will do it when it believes you are ready

There are more factors affecting when menstruation starts rather than just genetics, and physical activity.

Menstruation starts at different times, and there is nothing wrong with you.

You wont start exactly at the same time your mother did.
It's normal. It will come when it comes.

And eventually you'll wish it hadn't. LOL.
