Vet Degrees ? Where Do Our Members Get Their Vet Degrees?

I don't trust most people here on Y/A, especially those claming to be some kind of vet. People will lie just to get points, thumbs up, and top contributor badges. Most of the people here on Y/A are too young to have even graduated from veterinary school. A favorite saying of mine is "I'll believe it when I see it." If I'm not convinced you have a veterinary degree, I don't believe you are a qualified veterinary and I certainly won't vote for your answers. The biggest problem with this is if someone inexperienced with birds actually believes whatever the so called vet says and ends up harming their pet birds. That would be a disaster. I'm on Y/A to help pet birds not to hurt them. By helping and educating people who own pet birds, you can help the birds.

I haven't heard of any overnight vet schools. You must attend college for many years to become a vet and study specifically with birds to become an avian vet.

I agree that a vet is going to be way too busy to get on Y/A and answer questions.

By the way, Moggie, I know your answers are excellent and can stand on their own. Don't get too discouraged about the idiots thumbing down your answers. You can report them and get their accounts closed. Show them you won't take any kind of abuse here on Y/A. I'm still voting for many of your answers and know all these thumbs down are by inconsiderate, immature, jealous, obnoxious people out there who get their thrills from putting others down. Those people have serious emotional issues, to say the least. Stand up to them and fight back. Also, please put back the picture of the beautiful budgie that you had to identify you. Don't take anybody's crap on here. Keep strong and keep fighting.

Yes..there are a lot of kids on here claiming to have all sorts of credentials. It is hard to determine who is real and who is not one here. I often get mean emails from people claiming I am bogus myself. I actually am an ornithologist/wildlife biologist and I come on here to set things straight and try to educate people on the right choices to make rather than listening to 13 year olds giving advice that will kill pets and wild animals. After a while you can tell the people with real knowledge and the ones that fake it. Unfortunately some people are not her much so cannot tell the difference. I just hope that no animal is killed from bad advice given on this forum.

Nurses cleans people and animal poop not yahoo answer's poop. Were all just sharing what we've learned from our vet's advice or at home preventative care. Try to help someone else for once little lady.

I'm just kidding. Youre right, we should stop pretending to be something were not. Vets are kind of homeless and it'd be better if we went to them for antibiotics so the drug can turn our pet's germs into a virus.
