What's wrong with my computer?

When I try to log in at the login screen of xp, my computer will not insert my password when I type it, instead it will type randomly. I've even seen it backspace what I wrote. My sister did something later and said it was "r" and "4" that were being typed continuously. I'm freaking out, what's wrong?

Oh, and its a laptop, so I can't get a new keyboard.

Press SHIFT 5 times you may have sticky keys on. You may also have a damaged keyboard and the keys are stuck on and you would be best just to repair it.

First of all you CAN get new keyboards for laptops.

Secondly plug in a usb keyboard and see if the problem still exists. If not it is the laptop keyboard and you should order a new one from the manufacturer.
