something stuck in my throat?

Today I woke up with the feeling that something was stuck in my throat. I have been eating and drinking to try to free it to no avail. I recently changed my eating habits and have stopped drinking soda and started drinking juice. I drink roughly a gal of juice a day maybe alittle more and I have only been on this diet for roughly 4 days. What could be causing this, it doesnt hurt but it is very annoying.

Update:

to clear up some confusion, I am 21 a non smoker and it good physical shape. The irritation is definitely in my throat not the back of my mouth. I did have a recent metal injury in which I last a few layers of skin on my finger while working on a car but I doubt that is the cause because that has happened a couple times. I am gonna try switching to straight water and see what happens maybe even get a shake on my way home. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Is it at the back of your mouth, not your throat? if so just eat a piece of bread and drink some water =)

Your throat is probably irritated by the juice. Is it orange juice? The acidity might be higher than a typical soda that your body is used to.

Just a word of advice, why drink juice instead of water? If you are trying to get rid of the sugar intake, juices and fruit are made mostly of sugar.

So drinking more juice instead of soda will make almost no change in your sugar intake.

Drink water and see if it still feels irritated still and please, don't go into extremes like drinking gallons of sugar water thinking its a healthy choice. Check the labels of soda and your juice and see if there is a difference in sugar content and ingredients.

I congratulate you on your effort to clean up your diet!!

    Good luck!!

I am not sure how old you are.. or if you smoke.. any issues with rusty metal recent injuries, alergies.. this is serious enough to see a doctor because it may worsen and it is your breathing tube. Could be a very simple explanation, but I would not sit around or sleep around and have it so impair your breathing that you cant make it to a hospital.

Soda is highly acidic... its probably cos of the sudden shift. Try drinking some hot water/ hot beverages and see if it helps.
