Is this Depression? Please, I really need answers..?
Throughout the last month I've been having these extreme mood swings where one tiny thing sets me off and I'm in tears in under 2 minutes. The crying lasts for an hour or so. I feel like I'm worthless and a burden to everyone. The things that trigger the mood swings are things like me feeling fat (when I know I'm not), My mum wanting back her jeans, because I haven't got another pair and guilt that she has to buy me some, Loosing $20 off my dad, Taking pay off my friend because I gave out pamphlets for him, when I miss my big sisters, when I try really hard to get someone to like me, and they give attention to my best friend. Little petty things like that.
I live a good life. I live in a good house with a happy family, go to a good school, have friends and is provided for, but when the crying starts I feel so ungrateful. People are far worse off than me, why should I be sad?
Whats wrong with me? I really need answers :(

It does sound like you have depression, especially the flawed body image and sense of worthlessness, as well as the unstable mood and the crying. I would say go see a counselor, try to set up a weekly session or at least bi-monthly and just talk all your problems out. My counselor has helped me a lot with decision-making and she has been a source of a great deal of support. I always walk out of there feeling great. Give it at least 6 weeks before you make a decision on whether it's helping you or not. Exercise at least a half hour daily, I cannot stress enough how much of a role exercise plays in lifting my mood. and when you're thinking about what to eat in a given day - make sure you get your carbs (try to keep it whole grain/whole wheat), protein, fruits, vegetables, and dairy. Make sure all the lights are always on at night until you go to sleep, and get as much sunshine as possible.
If you stick to ALL of the above and after 6 weeks, you are still having trouble, I suggest going to a psychiatrist and getting a formal diagnosis, and perhaps you might want to think about anti-depressants.
I saw a counselor for a year and a half, and then I finally decided to get on anti-depressants. The combination of counseling and anti-depressants has done wonders for me.
I hope you have the same great results!

Hi I know what exactly what you are feeling as I used to suffer from the same, I tried many remedies. Until I found a few articles on the net the best is posted at the bottom
What are panic attacks? Most people have experienced this condition. It is actually a common disorder where a person feels intense fear or anxiety suddenly. Usually, these come without any warning and causes of these attacks are not obvious.
These attacks may occur only within a few minutes, but in rare cases, it could last up to a few hours. Frequency also varies. Some experience panic attacks only once in a while, while others may have it quite often.
Experts believe that panic attacks are results of a sudden rush of adrenaline causing the heart to palpitate and pump extra blood. If in an emergency situation, this extra blood would help you run fast and heightened your abilities, however, this won't be advantageous in normal conditions.
It takes about three minutes to fully get your body into this emergency mode, then within that three-minute period; you must be able to stop the adrenal glands to fill your body with adrenaline. When in a panic attack, your body is triggered by a false alarm, but at that time, it would feel so real.
Panic attacks are usually caused by too much anxiety. First thing that needs to be done when you feel like you're going to have a panic attack would be to relax your mind and body. Start taking deep and complete breaths.
Coping with panic attacks could sometimes be difficult. It is also as difficult to live with someone who may have not fully recovered from it. Agoraphobia could be the most harmful effect of panic attacks and immediate treatment should be sought.
Treatment for panic attacks includes psychotherapy or also known as cognitive-behavioural therapy. Seeing psychiatrists, social workers and psychologists could help in treating panic disorders.
A combination of medication and psychotherapy would eventually cure the person. Also, those who are repeatedly exposed to their phobias without getting panic attacks are on their way to healing.
These kinds of disorder might need time to heal but with constant effort, one would be able to fully recover from them.
For a natural approach to eliminate panic attacks within minutes, .There is a really Great article that i found http://tinyurl.com/y6y49hp
I really hope you get the answer you are searching for soon
Best wishes

If you don't feel this way everyday and only when you cry then maybe it isn't depression. There's something bothering you and I think you should figure it out. if the problem persist try seeing a therapist to see if you are depressed or just see one because it's nice to have someone to talk to about your feelings. As for me...I've been depressed for a couple years now and I've barely started therapy a year ago. I think I'm worthless every second of my life and I'm sad and angry all the time. If you're not like that then you're not depressed. You don't sound depressed to me. Listen to yourself..you have a good life, good family, home and friends. You're not depressed i think you're insecure about yourself. There's a difference. I hope you work it out and if you have more questions feel free to email me. : )

Go see your doctor. No one can really tell you that you have that but your doctor will be the best at helping you figure it out.
In the mean time, try to eat healthy, go for walks in the sun (as that helps ease depression), etc.
I get how you feel, it is always the little things that push us towards the edge, it sounds like you are going through a lot at the moment. I know it is hard but perhaps try yoga or Pilates to help ease your mind. Good luck with everything.

From your own words, "I've been having these EXTREME MOOD SWINGS", I would lean to you're becoming Bipolar with signs of depression, which can start anywhere from adolescent to adulthood. My one ex has it, and she would change her moods to extremes just like turning a light-switch on and off. That relationship was a real roller coaster ride from one moment to the next. Here is a website that has more information on it, and a test that you can take to see if you fit the bill and where you can seek help for this problem. There is treatment and help for it. http://bipolardisease.us/index.html
Good Luck!
