Does it help Villar to have his mother fight the battle for him?

Is it a desperate move by Villar to allow his mother to take the cudgels for him? Is it to sway the Filipinos' hearts to vote for him knowing how Filipinos are soft-hearted and how they readily champion the underdog?  Your opinions, please.  Thank you.

I think it is the corniest and silliest move to use his mother to get pity from the Filipinos. I mean a crying old woman, spare her please.

Villar is so desperate to win because he already spent billions in his campaign and wanted to regain it the easy way, if VIllar will win Philippines will be the most corrupt in the world

I think the guy is smart enough to know that a mother  is not the best person to defend the son's travails if the latter wants to be portrayed as a strong leader. The ad is bothersome.
