If the lakers don't win the west?
What will be the overwhelming #1 excuse among their fans?
You could choose from:
A kobe's mysterious broken finger and other assorted major injuries
B the refs/david stern/ aliens/ fill in your own conspiracy
C the lack of his teammates to produce
D Andrew Bynum
E phil jackson being so smug while sitting on the bench he forgot to coach
F other?
and today's bonus question is:
What will kobe's mysterious injury be next season, the one he has, that needs surgery, but he decided not to have it until after the season and then won't need it, that is causing him so much pain and throwing his shot off, and lasts for most of the season?

LMAO! Kobe...I mean Lakers fans, if nothing else are very predictable. I think it has to be A without a doubt. Kobe's "broken" finger is the easy winner of this contest. I don't ever recall an athlete getting so much attention and praise for playing through such a common and easily treated injury. It's really a testament to the media for its impressive ability to create headlines out of the most minute of details.
I think the next likely excuse is B. The refs are always a good, reliable standby excuse. It might hold some weight except for the fact that a Lakers Finals is David Stern's wet dream. Make it a LeBron-Kobe Finals and he'll probably have to visit a doctor to treat his 4 hr erection.
I think C is the next best possibility. I've definitely heard that excuse more than once. D and E are excellent options as well. It looks like you've got it pretty well covered, although you should never underestimate the Lakers fans ability to make excuses. I'm sure they'll surprise us with some great new ones. I can't wait to find out.
Cool, a bonus question. He was exhalted for playing through the pain, despite the fact he was hurting his team on many occasions by taking bad shots that he was incapable of making. In retrospect, it seems like this warrior attitude that he embraced was actually more a case of stupidity and stubborness. Had he simply went the logical and pragamatic route his finger would have been ready to go come playoff time. I hate to criticize a player for fighting through an injury, but it really was an unwise decision on his part. I don't really know what kind of injury he should develop next season. The finger injury has been so successful for him, it would be a shame to abandon it. He has 4 more fingers on that shooting hand, I don't see why he can't just keeping milking that excuse. It doesn't have to be too creative, those Kobe apologists will buy anything the media sell them.

Shaq broke his finger and recovered quickly for the playoffs this year. But Kobe IN THE SAME WAY broke his finger and it's affecting him ALL YEAR?
Kobe isn't that great of a player. All he can do is shoot. He can't rebound, pass, or be a good playmaker. He had SOOO much help. If Kobe played well from Q1 to Q4 like LeBron does, he wouldn't even have to jack up last second desperation shots.
If LeBron had as much help as Kobe, LeBron would have won 7 rings by now. Too bad LeBron didn't have good help. But this year, he has help, so the Cavs will win the 2010 NBA Finals.
