Question about a Mercury Grand Marquis transmission?

My friend was installing a transmission in my 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis, and he apparently misaligned the torque converter. My friend's father says it may have sheared off the tabs on the transmission. can these tabs be replaced? what parts dod i need to buy to fix it if these tabs are in fact sheared? I don't exactly know what tabs my friend's father is referring to, but I assume they go to the pump.

There are fluid or air convector also called torque convector..[What it does is to convert high rpm of the motor to a gradual and uniform speed and shifts the gear from 1 to 2 and so forth]

The tabs look like turbo fins [tabs] which rotate in centrifugal force converting it into torque. If these tabs are broken the you needs a new torque convector.
