newbies on makeup. please help. :))?

last year i bought some mineral makeups online, but it seems that i bought the wrong shades for my skin. The mineral makeups are seems to cakey.. because it is all powdery, like the foundation, finishing powder, blush, so I end up having to thick makeups on my face. I am shy to ask my sisters or friends because they used to tease me since i really don't wear make up. I am 19 years old and a college student, I just wanted to wear very light makeup because my face seems oily all the time, I have an acne prone skin. Any suggestions for makeup for school, that is easy.

Do I really need to put foundation or just concealer? what kind of foundation or concealer?(I want a compact one, i don't want those powdery, which uses brush all the time because for me its messy.hehe and what color)

I am a pure chinese but I am not that very white..my color is http://www.idigitalemotion.com/tutorials/guest/ski... the midtone asian, second box.

What is primer? or moisturizer? how to use it? should I apply it first?

Please put your answer like a step by step like what to put first or what to do first.

for those who will answer, thank you in advance. :))

please suggest brands that are available in asia esp philippines, loreal, garnier, revlon, covergirl, maybelline, are available. and if you have any brands that you can suggest and affordable please do tell me. thanks. :))

I am half chinese and you and I have roughly the same skin tone. I am not prone to acne, but I do have sometimes oily skin. I personally use a very basic light makeup.

    Don't:

-Don't use a liquid concealer or foundation. It clogs your pores usually has an oil base, causing your acne to worsen.

-Don't use primer, it will again, clog your pores.

    Do:

-Go to the store and buy a compact appropriate for your skin tone. I use Covergirl. Find a color similar to the skin tone on the inside of your wrist. It will most closely match your face.

-Apply the compact to your face. I personally just put some on my nose, chin, and forehead. However, you may apply it all over your face. Do not apply too much.

-Buy a light brown eyeliner. It will give you a very natural look. Apply it on the top lash line. (Not too dark. And make it a thin line.)

-You may or may not use mascara. I assume you have black hair, therefore, I would use a black mascara applies lightly to the top lashes only. (I use Maybelline)

-If you want to use blush, find a peachy color that will match your skin tone well. Do not choose a very pink or very orange one. Apply to the apples of your cheek bones.

-Buy a makeup remover. This will help get it off quicker than hot water.

-Wash your face before you go to sleep. You don't have to buy anything over the top, just some dove bar soap will be fine.

-After you wash your face, get some face lotion and apply it before bed.

It may take a little while to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, you will have it done in 5 minutes.

    Hope I could help!

Mineral Makeup is great for acne prone skin. The secret to getting a natural application is less is more! Loose foundation would be a good choice for you. Use a kabuki brush and blend , blend and then blend some more. The problem that a lot of people have is that they don’t use a mist at the end which softens the appearance of the mineral makeup. So with blending and a mist you will like the natural look you will achieve. Remember it is mineral so you can layer it…start out light and continue to blend another layer till you get the coverage you like…you should feel like you have nothing on your skin! Feel free to see all three different types of mineral makeup (loose, pressed and liquid) at http://mineralmakeup.name./
