Would China become that they are today had it not been for Mao Zedong?

In case Gen. Chiang Kai Shek won that election over Mao?

    I think what Zedong was able to do in unifying all the territories of China may not have occured under Shek. So, no I don't beleive so.

    Yeah you're right, Chairman Mao was a great fun-loving person, uhm, for someone who murdered over 117,000,000 of his own countrymen. Oops, there I go again, letting the truth out. So Sorry.
