How do i get rid of a dog without getting in trouble?

You are under no obligation to care for someone else's dog.

Tell him to his face that the next time he drops her off at your place then YOU'LL drop her off at a local shelter or call in animal control and claim she was abandoned.

If he wants HELP caring for her, then offer to help him look for dog walkers and dog day care centers. If he just plain doesn't want her, can't afford her, can't care for her then offer to drop her off at a shelter FOR him.

You can't just kill a dog. It isn't the dog's fault she has a negligent owner.

Legally the dog isn't yours, therefore you can't do anything with or to it. Explain to your grandpa that you no longer want to watch the dog, and no longer WILL watch the dog, because it's killing your chickens, and you don't want the responsibility of caring for HIS dog. It really can't be THAT difficult. Also, keep the dog away from your chickens, or keep the chickens in an area that the dog doesn't have access to. There are better, EASIER ways, to go about this, then harming the dog.

Find a Kennel near your Grandfather. Drop her off there and tell them that he's been paying you to take care of her, but she's getting to your chickens so he needs to learn to pay people that can properly take care of her.

You can also ask for other places or look up other places near him that will take care of dogs for days or have day care for pets.

Find whatever place you feel the dog deserves, more likely though you will put her some place she will be pampered to bits and he will have to learn the hard way where she belongs during the day.

Depending on which place you select, they may walk the dog and have it socialize with other dogs during the day.

You have a very sick mind. I'd not be surprised if you were a sociopath. Oh well, you'll be in jail in a few years if not sooner.

It's not *her* dog to do anything with. How hard is it to tell her grandfather no, especially since she doesn't like him anyway.

ADD: No I don't see that problem as JUSTIFYING you killing a dog. Do you have any sense of moral at all? So call the police. Tell the police the dog showed up on your property and tell the police where his home is so they will bring him back.

Well, if its his dog I don't know that there is much you can do without potentially getting into some kind of trouble. It's not your "personal property". Maybe you could talk to him about putting it up for adoption or taking it to the ASPCA? If you take care of it more than he does, maybe he doesn't really want the responsibility of it either and would be willing to give it to someone who does.

Next time he does this, call him and tell him you can't watch his dog today because you had other arrangements and won't be home. "Please come pick him up; I'd hate for anything to happen while I'm away."
