I used to take Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, it's a 28 day pill. I never gained weight from it, and it HELPED my period pains so much. I would only have a light period for about 3 days. Trust me it helps, and like I said, I didn't gain a pound. What's awesome is, Wal Mart has the generic version of it for only $9 ( It's the same thing as the brand name ) However, my sister gained weight from taking the shot injection form of birth control. I don't know if the shot version is more apt to causing weight gain, or if every ones body just reacts different. It doesn't hurt to try it though. Have your doc, prescribe the Ortho, so you can get it super cheap. If you start packin on the pounds, just stop

Talk to a nurse, birth control pills will help with your cycle, and yes some can make you gain weight, but not all. You need to talk to a health care professional, call or go to a clinic and let them know what is going on, or if you have a friend who's mother you are close to talk to her. Just remember being on birth control is only to prevent pregnancy, and to control your cycle, it will NOT protect you from STD's.

birth control pills do more harm than good. some even cause blood clots and nerve damage. take midol or something.
