cost of food in the Virgin Island?

I just heard that food is very expensive there,do you know if this is true/

    It really is not that bad. However, there may be a limit as to what you can purchase. As an example, you can walk into Kroger and look at 50 types of soap. In the USVI, you may have 40 types of soap to pick from.

    Having just returned from St Croix, I can tell you that restaurant meals are slightly higher than the mainland, but not overly so. A tour guide said that the Virgin Islands don't produce enough of their own food to be self-sustaining, so some of it has to be shipped in which obviously raises the cost.

    At least their rum (Cruzan) is dirt cheap when you buy it there. They have no sales tax, either. If I ever get married, I might just return.

    no its not, its like you would pay anywhere in the states, and its really good!
