does the number 20 sidney's candy have any chance to win in the kentucky derby tomorrow?

He has a chance, but very few horses have won coming out of Post 20 (although Big Brown did it two years ago). As for his jockey, Joe Talamo, he may be a rookie, but I've watched a lot of his races, and he is every bit as good as some of the more seasoned riders (in fact, his ride on I Want Revenge in the Gotham last year was incredibly impressive - horse tripped coming out of the gate; Talamo didn't panic and rush the horse to play catch up and I Want Revenge won the race). But, of course, a jockey can only do so much and the horse has to do the rest. I think if Sidney's Candy breaks well and Talamo doesn't have to go wide on both turns, Sidney's Candy could definitely win. That being said, with the defection of Eskendereya, there are a lot of horses who could win.

I hope so, I am a HUGE Joe Talamo fan and i was so disappointed last year when he didnt get to race because I Want Revenge was scratched. Ironically i rooted for Chocolate Candy last year to win as well, so how funny that Joe's riding Sidney's Candy in this years race? Joe is a great jockey and i look forward to watching him run. lets hope this horse can do it. As a 2nd choice i'm betting Mike Smith could eekk out a win, possibly..

its a rookie jockey who got screwed over last yr and is making his first trip. its going to be a hard victory, lookin at lucky only didnt beat sidneys candy because of a bad trip last race. how much they put down on him? honestly cause its my fav horse too.

I hope so. I know several that have blown their wad on Sidney's Candy too.
