Does a CTA pass work with Metra electric?

Im a student at the university of illinois at chicago and i have my U-pass (CTA card) and google maps is telling me i have to take the metra electric train (not the normal metra trains, i know my upass doesnt work there) so does my upass work with metra electric? and if not how much does it cost to ride metra electric?

    No - they are two completely different systems. Metra tickets are sold by distances called zones. The prices are also determined by monthly ticket prices, 10 ride, round trip, etc.

    Without knowing where you're travelling (to and from) it's hard to say.

    Alfie Martin - The CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) does not run all the way to the Great Lakes Naval Base. CTA (buses/ELs) run in Chicago. To get to Chicago from Great Lakes take Metra (Union Pacific North line) to downtown Chicago (Olgivie Station at Madison/Canal).

    Nope! your U-pass only works on the cta and the el. Sorry.
