types of depression medications.?

i have depression, and to be honest it's pretty bad. my boyfriend told me to go to a pharmacy and ask for something over the counter, but there isn't anything like that is there? please please please help me out here. thanks! oh and to add alittle more. i can't go to a doctor because 1) i don't have insurance 2) i don't have any money to go to a doctor at all. i'm also 18 now so i'm not sure of what all i can do.

    The best thing you can do is to try and find a doctor. You can't get medication to help you without a prescription from a psychiatrist - I'm also on medication for depression, and it really has changed my life.

    Talk to your parents, maybe, about finding a way to go see a doctor, because you really, really need to - it's the best thing you can do. They understand what you're dealing with and they know how to help.
