Need help on Windows XP Repair.?
Malware has damaged my drivers for both my PS/2 keyboard and mouse. I'm going to try a repair with my XP disc. However, I've read that it will repair to a state prior to all service pack updates, which will leave my comp vulnerable.
My goal is to gain access to my files and then consider an upgrade. Can I access my computer once more if I were to purchase and install a USB keyboard and mouse?

I suggest upgrading and put your current hard drive in a USB enclosure to retrieve your files.
