Well yes its a new company in germany and no I couldn't find an AX500-S either. Since there website does not show in their "where to buy" location..the united states.(only europe and asia) your american "seller" has imported them and put HIS name on it! A lot of "third party" (or more) vendors use this type of trick. Not the nicest of business practices! I would send it back (if you can) Next time...try buying a brand name with a proven track record! Ya it may cost a bit more but its cheaper than replacing all you computer components if the PSU fries your stuff!

Doesn't look good. In the Amacrox website, 2 models, Free Earth 80 plus shows the package. There is another 500 watt that appears to be a basic model. Funny part is that none come with a 8 pin power plug. Just 4. But they are dolled up for game cards in cabling. The cases look like the Corsair, Cooler Master, and a few others. German company created in 2003. I would take the serial number off yours and try to register it with Amacrox and see what happens. If there is no conversation and you recieve a confirmation of warranty it should be lagit. If the contact is refused, you know where you stand. Hope it helps.

i've never heard from that brand before. the model AX500-S can't be found, the closest match might be the AX500-A, here are some technical details

    http://www.pricecat.be/en/p/Amacrox/AX500-A/Amacro...

it isn't an 80 Plus certified, only mediocre 70%+

    p.s.

you already asked a question about it some months ago concerning the powering of an ATI HD4850 graphics card. this shouldn't be a problem as this graphics card has a peak load of only 108W.

do not cheap out on the power supply - i made the mistake of buying a cheapo psu once, and it took out my hard drive. believe me, you will not regret spending a little extra money on a good quality power supply. the more expensive ones tend to have higher quality + larger fans, which helps reduce the noise that your computer will generate. atx is the most common case/motherboard size or power supply type, so i can pretty much guarantee atx will be fine for you. seasonic/corsair are both good brands.
