Do men fall in love the way that women do?

Sometimes i am afraid that men are capable of lust and then even a deep compassion for women but not the same level of love that women are capable of. i'm not saying all men or that this has to be true, this is just a thought.

I'm in highschool and I'm not bad looking if I'm being honest here, but I'm not one of those girls thats drop dead gorgeous either. I feel like, no matter how much a guy might seem to like me, i would still always be his second choice to one of those girls that is more beautiful.

yes we do. i found that out the hard way.

my ex girlfriends use to show me so much love and cry over things i did and i always thought "wow, someones on their period". i couldnt really grasp the idea of caring so much for someone that it would bring me down emotionally to that level where id cry for them. i figured i was just a typical dude and went along with life worry free.

i treated my ex like garbage now that i think about it. shed leave for work and say 'i love' a million times and id get annoyed. shed hug me and reach to kiss me and id be like "go to work already, dam"... after we broke up i figured oh well. but a couple weeks later it all switched, i thought what id do without her in my life and just that thought alone brought tears to my eyes.

so we talked about a family, kids a house a future the whole nine yards and while we were talking about it i started crying!! i held her so tight and kissed her and said "im sorry, i love you and i dont want anyone else in the world your my future and without you i dont want one". but i was happy, after that the times we spent together were filled with me staring at her for no reason, i kissed her randomly and told her 'i love you' every minute. i thought to myself "this must be the feeling girls have cuz im acting like one with her, all sprung". but it was a good feeling.

until, she left me for some old fat guy that has money. i was crushed, devastated. i cried/drank myself to sleep, i lost all motivation to even get up from bed in the morning. i had the worst pain both physically and emotionally. and i thought, this is what i get for being careless, i had broken girls hearts in the past without a drop of emotion, and fast forward to me laying in bed wishing i could hold her again.

i was a girl... and it sucked!!

To be honest with you, men just like to look at beautiful women and when the get a chance to be with one, they will always take it because they want a piece of it. I mean, will u date a normal guy over a handsome boy that is smart, a sports player and a maybe not too nice.?... no u will not. Anyways, guys do fall in love, but one girl is sometimes not enough depending on behavior and attitude of the girl

I think it's hard to tell if a guy is really in love with a woman. They can say it but, honestly even if you think they really mean it how can you really tell. Some guys are good at lying to get what they want. Plus I think men are hardwired to have commitment issues and the fear of actually falling in love. My guess would be the woman has to be the full package attractive, confident, sexy in her own way, similar interests and hobbies, someone they can see themselves with in the future and so on.

We made a list in class about what you notice most about the opposite sex and most girls went by feelings/personality/emotion/etc and most guys went by looks. But if the guy knows the beautiful girl is a bimbo, they wont last long.

I think so. It just takes some men longer than women to fall that hard. But yes, if they are truly in love, they feel the same we do.

That might be true in general, but it changes in the late teens and early 20's when guys start seeing through to girls' other qualities. It's like we get tired of eating Candy (sic) and start to crave protein...

Be happy with yourself. You have thing to offer boys that no other girl can. Its very important to be happy with yourself. Don't ever put a boy first. If he loves you he will wait or be right buy your side. How ever I am 32 and still have not found my prince :(
