ladies: how should i propose to my girlfriend?

1st and foremost.... did you ask her Dad first!? That would be the traditional and respectful thing to do for her family and for her (if her father is in the picture).

Once you have the "okay" from Dad, and you are pretty sure she will say "yes" get the perfect ring for her and don't go overboard.

Plan for the proposal.... I would only propose to her at the place you met if this place was remotely romantic. Where is it? She may find it charming at a bus stop, but she may prefer at a restaurant on top of a mountain, or in a restaurant overlooking the city with candlelit.

That is classic. Classic is good. A nice dinner beforehand would also be a good idea. It gives you a reason to dress up, making the memory just a little more romantic. Remain classic as you do it, get down on one knee and everything. Go big! She'll love it and more importantly, her friends/parents will love it. She'll love reliving the moment over and over too.

If you really want to win some points, ask her father for permission first. Absolute home run.

Don't do anything cheesy. Like hiding the ring somewhere.

Don't do it in a place where there are lots of people. Otherwise, if they're watching she may feel pressured into saying yes.
