It criminalizes illegal aliens being in the state of Arizona. It gives local law enforcement the authority to interview a suspected illegal alien for appropriate documentation of residency. The residency interview may only be done after there has been a case of probable cause established.

It states that police officers need to verify the immigration status of any person they come into lawful contact with that seems foreign. It is NOT a license to pull over immigrants for no reason. For example, if the police pull over someone for a broken taillight and the person speaks with an accent and seems to be from another country, that person is required to show proof that they are in the country legally, or they risk deportation, fines, and criminal charges.

Also, the law makes it a criminal offense to hire illegal immigrant, even if your just picking up day laborers.

  • It says that it is Illegal for an Immigrant to the US to be in Arizona without his/her legal documents. It literally promotes racial profiling
