how do i set up my outlook express please?
please can anybody help to set up my outlook mail express i dont understand about the incoming and outgoing server i am on windows xp and my internet is virgin media any help would be gratfully recieved thankyou

Go to the Tools menu and select Accounts….
A window entitled 'Internet Accounts' will open. If you have not set up an e-mail account before, the window will appear empty.
Click the Add button and then click Mail… to set up your e-mail account.
Enter your name as you would like it to appear to others when you send them an e-mail. We recommend entering your real name, although any name can be used.
Click Next to continue.
Now enter your Virgin Media e-mail address. Remember that the part after the @ symbol should correspond to your type of account, e.g., richard.branson@virginmedia.com.
Click Next to continue.
Now enter the e-mail server settings.
Incoming mail server type
POP3
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server
pop3.virginmedia.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
smtp.virginmedia.com
Click Next to continue.
Now enter the following settings.
Account name
Use entire e-mail address.
e.g., richard.branson@virginmedia.com
Password
Enter the password for your e-mail account. If you don't know the password for your account you can reset it using the forgotten password tool in My Virgin Media.
Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
Unticked
Click Next to continue.
Click Finish to exit the setup wizard.
Your new e-mail account should now be listed in the Mail section of the Internet Accounts window.
Click the account name once to highlight it, and then click Properties.
A window entitled 'Properties' will now open with the General tab selected. This tab will show some of the information you entered in order to set up your e-mail account.
The name of the account (just above the Name field) can be edited. This can be useful if you have more than one e-mail account set up and would like an easy way to distinguish between accounts.
Name
Your name as you would like it to appear to others when you send them an e-mail. We recommend entering your real name, although any name can be used.
E-mail address
Your Virgin Media e-mail address. Remember that the part after the @ symbol should correspond to your type of account, e.g., richard.branson@virginmedia.com.
Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing

Once you have checked these settings, select the Servers tab.
The Servers tab should contain the information you entered when you set up the e-mail account.

Once you have checked these settings, click the Settings… button.
A window entitled 'Outgoing Mail Server' will open. Enter the following settings.

Click OK to return to the previous window and then select the Advanced tab.
In the Advanced tab, configure the following settings:

This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
Ticked
Incoming mail (POP3)
995
This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
Ticked
You may find that e-mail performance is improved if you move the Server Timeouts slider bar setting to 5 minutes.
Click OK to exit the Properties window, and then close the Internet Accounts window.
You are now ready to start using your e-mail account to send and receive messages.
