Pac v. Mayweather - Toney v. RJJ?

I get the feeling that however this fight turns out, it may be very one-sided, and do nothing but attempt to settle this crazy debate.

I was also wondering if anyone else got the notion that this could end up looking a lot like Toney v. Roy Jones, where 2 top pound for pound guys match up and its just hell for one of them. I'm not picking a winner, but if Manny wins, anyone else think it could resemble RJJ's style of domination?

Toney and Floyd both have similar styles and attributes, and Manny is more unorthodox like Roy was - I think if Manny is quicker to the trigger he could just have Floyd reacting without countering like Roy did to Toney.

Thoughts (again not picking just asking if anyone else sees the potential similarities)?

Update:

- Guru, to completely dismiss Manny's chances makes your presepective worthless. Manny is faster, younger and stronger than Marquez, and isn't a natural counterpuncher. Its a completely different fight.

Floyd, stylistically, is much more similar to the younger Toney - if you don't think so then you probably don't know much about Toney, so you shouldn't be answering anyway.

Update 2:

- I'm talking about the matchup, not comparing the fighters. And Mayweather is nothing like Roy Jones other than they have both been no 1 pound for pound guys. Nothing about them is similar apart from being very fast. And if you were only a James Toney fan until he lost, then your opinion goes right next to Guru's. How about when he beat Evander Holyfield?

My point is that both Mayweather and Toney both are very technically skilled counterpunchers, both are very slick and have good handspeed - when Toney fought Roy, Roy's physical ability (along with unorthodox style) and agility presented angles and situations that even a great techincian has trouble with. Manny possess great agility and throws punches with speed and power from different angles based on that agility. THAT was the question.

And if you are somehow taking a shot at Toney as a fighter, please remember he has about 2X as many wins (and has never been KOd)as Floyd Mayweather, check Floyds record after 80 fights

First of all Manny is AWKWARD, OFF BALANCE A LOT, LUNGES IN, GETS WILD AT TIMES......

Roy Jones was none of those things- YOU MUST BE WEARING THOSE NEW PACQUIAO GLASSES THEY MAKE YOU SEE THINGS THAT AREN'T THERE!

The guy that you CAN compare Jones to is MAYWEATHER, similar foot speed, body quickness, and hand speed.

Mayweather's ENTIRE BODY is faster than Pacquiao's

The Mayweather/Pacquiao fight will BE just like the Mayweather/Marquez fight but WORSE, because Manny throws a lot, so Floyd will have a FEAST OF COUNTER PUNCHING............MANNY GOES DOWN IN THE 9TH.

LOL @ comparing James Toney to Mayweather..hahahahahaha

I was a HUGE Toney fan until Roy Jones destroyed him.. Don't feed me Trash.... Mayweather is Roy Jones with better defense, less power, and more discipline. I will debate you up and down about this as well... If you want..

I respect Manny Pacqiaou, but he will have to have a major overhaul of his fight plan, because he can't come in swinging at Mayweather with his hands down low. Or a COUNTER PUNCHER like Floyd, will catch him every time...

Actually I see a better chance of Manny looking like Hatton.

Cotto is combating Margarito subsequent. Arum demands to make his cash off Antonio too... I dont see Hatton successful and I dont see Mayweather in need of to get right into a combat that poses a truly venture. He is all approximately being a paper champ and combating men whose kind he could make seem foolish. He is just too well and he is aware of it. But a combat with Cotto will reveal all that and I suppose he might instead retire then allow Cotto positioned a blemish on his list. The so much exciting combat might be Cotto v Mayweather due to the fact men and women (after Hatton) will suppose each Cotto and Mayweather are unbeatable. So to have each face every different might make combat of the last decade talents (a truly combat in contrast to the crap that Golden Boy Production conjured up along with his historic gentle fingers seeking to get at PBF)... I wish it occurs however im no longer protecting my breath

I do not see similarities in any of those 4 fighters.

Money looks nothing like Toney, and Manny JUICE HEAD could not shine RJJ's shoes.

Pac is a waste of time until he takes the EASY random blood and urine tests. He should show some respect for the sport.

Dewey, its disrepectful and cowardly to require special testing of your opponents or any other special consideration just to fight. If you're the man, aren't you the man?
