Mellycat123 - Good news for you! Precancerous cells of the uterine cervix form pretty much on the surface of the opening of the cervix. Cryosurgery or freezing is done to the surface. Scar tissue does not form there but surface abnormal cells are killed and new healthier cells grow from the base outward to the surface. No scar tissue forms like after a skin incision, No one except your doctor will ever see the "frozen" surface which is later shed by outgrowing normal cells which will be seen on future Pap smears.
