Maybe, fact is. Oil is going out. If we are to survive as a human race we need to move away from oil dependence. The oil spill I don't think will raise prices, and the amount lost is only a small percentage of the remaining oil we have left. But thats not really the question at hand.

I'd like to think that our planet is trying to warn us that we are destroying it. Iceland's volcano going off, this oil spill. I know that's not the case, but it's just a point in evidence that our planet will get more and more unstable with more extreme weather and raising water levels, melting icecaps, destruction of eco-systems, etc ect.

The oil spill currently is destroying hundreds of eco-systems, putting many plant and animal life in danger, destroying beaches, killing and ruining our planet - all in the name of what, a mistake. A mistake that has been driven by profit by BP.

If the oil doesn't destroy these habitats and eco-systems, climate change probably will. Our planet and existence depends on a gentle balance between the food web and a stable climate. We interrupt either of them, we can't exist here.

The oil spill will affect the short term future of the locals to the spill and the wildlife in the area. If climate change has its way, it will just be a small addition to the ever changing world we live in. Whether that is one with our without human existance.

I think it may cause an even more of an Increase in gas prices. I think it may cause an issure with where we can dig for oil and when that happens wars happens and you never know what may occur. I think it is all written in the prophecy that there will be a new world order and everyone will be living under the same economy and spending the same dollar.

I think there will be stricter regulations on Oil Companies, they are going to have to figure out a way to make their equipment more reliable! But they aren't going to by far stop drilling in the ocean.

It will destroy the economy of the Mississippi Gulf Coast which depends on the seafood industry and tourism.
