Firstly stop worrying so much about the do's and don'ts you'll turn yourself into a gibbering wreck by the time you get out on that date with the poor guy. We females are lucky really, its the guys that mostly have to do all the ' doing' so to speak, had to pluck up the courage to ask you to the movies etc etc., So the female just sits back and lets the guy be the 'protector' so to speak.

Just turn up for the date all fresh and pretty. Don't eat ice cream in the cinema, if he asks would you like something to eat say 'popcorn'. Allow him to slide his arm around the back of your seat. If you lean in toward him when he does this (if he does), then that is telling him your comfortable with his arm around your seat. Later that arm may land on your shoulder, and again that's OK.

Usually that is how most first dates go, then he walks or takes you home, and a quick peck on your cheek from him is perfectly acceptable. Tell him thank you and you had a lovely time.

But .... if this guy goes to far, arm on shoulder then is hands going other places your not comfortable with, just simply take his hand and put his own hand back on his own lap. Some guys, yes even the decent ones, try this on in an attempt to see what sort of girl you are - stupid I know, but then guys are guys. If he accepts that movement back, and then behaves then he is still a decent guy - but you are making it loud and clear that your not ready for ' Hanky Panky'.

Just try and relax, once the date has actually commenced, you will relax and not feel so awkward, but never allow a guy to take liberties with you unless your fully in agreement too. If your lost for what to say to him during the date, apart from answering anything he asks you, start talking about something you know he is interested in, like football or some sort of sport.
