How do you add numeric values to lines in excel?

Well, I have data as follows:

Bla1 / March 1, 2010 / Here, nor here/

Bla2 / March 1, 2010 / Here, not here/

Bla3 / March 1, 2010 / Here, nor here/

Bla4 / March 1, 2010 / Here, not here/

I would like to add a small table below, or a total displaying the ones returned and not returned, automatically. For instance, If I already have Bla1 and Bla4, that I just wrote something on bla1&bla4 line & it would automatically show up in the table. Can this be done without adding an additional column? Thanks!

u can use the following function:

=if(bla1="some sort of value let us say March 1, 2010 ", "Here", "Not here")

in words this if function says if bla1 equals march 1. 2010 then put in the cell Here if not put not here

i hope this answers ur question
