Who enjoyed City Country more than the test match?
I felt that the test match was pretty dull. Sure conditions were iffy but apart from a few good moments the game wasn't as good as it could have been. Whereas I loved every single minute of City Country. Watching all those players putting 100% in.. for a sky blue jersey. Brilliant match.. Also some of those players really put their names in for bench spots that probably wouldn't have been picked otherwise.. such as Dean Young and Mason
In fact all the Country boys had a really really good game.. could only help their chance.
Your thoughts?

Hell yeah! I seem to be the only person on Earth who loves City vs Country. It gives little known players a taste of representative football. I see it as players in contention for Origin being tested under representative conditions. To see how they cope under pressure.
How good were the 2 fullbacks. Dugan and Coote played awesome.

The test was OK as a test match. Two tries each with goalkicking the difference. As a hypothetical, I wonder if the result would have differed had the Kiwis been able to use their players in Europe.
The City Country game was far more entertaining (better conditions too). I have never thought that it was right to play it in opposition to the test. Where's the respect for the Australian and Kiwi players. Similarly, where's the respect for the players in the city Country game.
Perhaps in future if they continue with the City/Country game it is played on a separate weekend from the test or is played as a curtain raiser at the test ground.

As a Queenslander, the City/Country match didn't excite me much at all. I thought it was fairly entertaining football, but I didn't feel any rivalry or passion from either team. As I said, though, this is probably because I'm chilling up here in Queensland- I'm sure there was more hype in NSW. For this reason I enjoyed the test match more. One of my best friends is a Kiwi so there's always a fair bit of bragging going on whichever way the game goes. I thought both sides had amazing defence and control and in the end we got over them just based on conversions. I don't think a game needs to have lots of points scored to be entertaining. A good arm wrestle right to the end was what I was looking for, and it was delivered.

I know everyone's really into the Test match, but I honestly enjoyed the City Country game a heap more. I got really into the match, there was some fantastic football being played. I was really impressed with the Country teams performance especially Josh Dugan, he's an absolute freak.

I did, but the weather didn't help teh test match. Sloppier game, obviously.
Plus it was a delight to see Dugan carving it up. Hands of Chooks, he's a Raider

It was a great match, but as a very proud Aussie, test matches are the best for me
