What the heck is Josh Beckett's problem with hitting so many Yankee batters tonight?
I usually don't complain but this is getting out of hand now.
Edit: He also almost hit Cervelli at least twice.

Beckett has struggled most of the season and it was like he just totally lost control of himself in that inning (in more ways than one). I really don't think he hit Jeter on purpose because he's way too much of a competitor to ever give away a run but some of the others might have been intentional or might not have been. In any case it certainly wasn't a very professional performance. Hopefully he will be able to get himself together soon. I can see why Yankee fans are pissed at him though although I would be surprised if he was actually trying to hurt anybody. Only he knows for sure though.

It was horrible. I have no idea what happened. Beckett was throwing balls so close to batters and whacking a few... HARD. I couldn't believe it. This isn't the Beckett I love to see :*(
It was REALLY bad. Hopefully he can get back to normal. But I am sick of everyone acting like he was the most horrible person on Earth because I keep seeing questions like "Is Beckett this biggest d-bag?" or "Why does Beckett suck?" or "Josh Beckett is overrated" (which isn't even a question, by the way). We all know Beckett was bad and acted like an @ss today, but nobody can seem to drop it >.<

I understand your point Scooter. I know Yankee fans are angry that he hit Cano - I have no idea if that was on-purpose or not. He had already retired Cano twice plus the Yankees already had a 2-run lead, so I just don't think he'd do that purposely when it's such a close game. I know he hit Jeter too but I can't imagine he did it on purpose - with the bases loaded, knowing that would bring in another run? Might just a command problem, his pitches are all over the place.
Yankee fans aren't the only ones pissed w/ Beckett right now though. God, he started off so terrifically and just fell apart. I'm disappointed with him. =/

ill say what i said on the other question
I thought about it too but why would he almost hit Cervelli and hit jeter with the bases loaded when he was already losing by so much? It doesn't make sense. In a different situation it looks like it was on purpose but i dont think he did it on purpose. He just was losing his control.
@Jazzy
when he hit them it they were only down by a few runs. I seriously doubt he was going to hit them to hit them and wouldnt care. Ive never seen that mentality with a ball player. just sayin "oh well mine as well hit another one since my teams out of it already"

I know! I am so pissed. He is like trying to hit all of the Yankess. If the bases are loaded, doesnt he think that when he hits them, they walk and get another run? He was making the Red Sox lose more. Instead of maybe striking the yankees out or letting them get a flyout, he has to hit them?!
He hurt Cano and Cano is really good. That must hurt a lot. Im kinda sorry for them. I felt like going over there. At least the Yankees are winning 9-2. That is what he gets that a******
Go Yankees!

Hes out of the game now. Wow hit 2 batters, nearly hit Cervelli, Swisher, Tex. AT LEAST YANKEES ARE UP 9-1 :D

It's too bad he can't hit in the AL. It's funny how Michael Kay keeps talking about how tough a Texan he is and whatever with that, I sure wanna see how much of a wimp he would sound like if he got nailed by an AJ Burnett Fastball.
You know what though The Yanks got their revenge by knocking him out of the game.

Trust me, I'm just as mad as you. But I can't imagine why he would ever do that on purpose. He would have to have no reguard for the score so I highly doubt that. Jeez, I'd be more mad at Beckett if I was a Sox fan. What was he doing out there?
- pinstripeprideLv 41 decade ago
He'd rather hit them than have them get a hit off of him. But srsly I don't know if it's intentional or not. Yanks won't retalliate either because their short on players too.

I have lost my patience with him I really hope cano is just got a cramp we can't afford him to be hurt. especially the way he has been hitting. i hope the yanks retaliate
