RED LIGHT TICKET PLEASE HELP?
hi
I was driving 45 in a 45 mph zone i see the light in a left hand turn lane turn green so i speed up to make the left turn. I am going about 43 now about to make the left when it turns yellow so i slow down but still think i can make the yellow light. so i head into the intersection. it turned red when i crossed the limit line. I see a cop on the other side of the intersection watch the whole thing so i freak out and come to a stop right past the crosswalk. By this time the cop has stopped in the lane that i would've turned into and is waiting for me to pull behind him. So i pull out of the intersection and pull behind him. he gave me a ticket for running a red light. Being in the car with 4 minors while having a provisional license, and driving past 11 pm.
DO i have any chance? Can i Fight this in any way?
please help me i practicly broke and i cant take any more shorts in my life
i am very scared about the possibility of bad driving record and a fat ticket
please help i am in ca

That sounds like a judgment call by the officer, If the light is in yellow while in the turn you did not pass on read even if it changes over you as you pass. Are there any clear or blue lights over the regular lights as police use them to tell if indeed a light is red if not the officer can not be 100% sure. You can protest it by letting clerk of courts know your plan that you want to fight ticket. but have to submit proof you were in the right. You will have to wait on a judge. right now get proof that you were in the right like where you were at the time light was yellow (a diagram would be use full), video the length of light and record time it takes to change like. with this proof the judge may throw the case out. on the otherhand lack of proof can go the other way and you may have to pay court costs plus the fine.
option 2) If the ticket is not much you can pay it and don't worry about the violation as in 4 years the info will not count against you. I had a speeding ticket in 1996 for example and now its no longer seen on DMV report.

You ran the light... that's all there's to it. Hindsight is always 20/20... but you should of just stopped at the light.
I know it's hard to drive "legal" all the time when you're younger... but take it from me, who's had his license suspended for points. When you drive... man just enjoy the drive and take it easy. It's safer for you... for everyone else, and it's good on the wallet. Right now, my driving record is one of the only things I'm concerned about in terms of finding a job right now.
