honda cb350f - 50k miles too much ?
I'm interested in buying a honda cb350 four I saw on ebay, is 50k miles too much for this bike ? Everything else looks good, he says it runs right up and there are no mechanical problems. the auction is at 1400 but no one bid on it yet and there's only 1 day left so I was curious. Thanks.

I have 52000 on my 01' CBR 929......
But theres no telling what kind of condition its in, so generally speaking, yes, thats a lot of miles..
BUT- I've seen Hondas exceed 100k when maintained properly.

50k is a lot of mileage for that bike. Very few Hondas from that era attained that kind of mileage, so it is hard to say what than means. My gut says $1400 is too high, but would not surprise me to learn that nice examples brought twice that. Take a look at the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club site to see if you can learn more.

Getting time to check rings and timing chain, valve job. The little 350 and 400-4s were not originally meant for American market- they were designed for Japans domestic hot cycle market for young riders who had a minor displacement -but not power or speed-restriction. Supposed to be a couple 'gray' market parts suppliers and a few old dealers have the Honda parts lists and sources to get the needed parts. Good cycles for someone able to maintain, used to be competitive road racers in their displacement class- they challenged the 350 Yamaha and Suzi 2 strokes twins and won enough times .

50K is a lot but think about it for a minute. The last 350-4 was produced in 1974 that means the bike is 36yrs old so that's not that much spead over that time. It's a real classic bike and it's running so it was taken care of.My best advice is try before you buy.
