The Preakness is the shortest race of the Triple Crown, The Belmont being the longest. The Preakness field is limited to 14 starters. It's a speed favoring track.
The weather is always a factor as other answerer stated in his informative answer. The biggest difference is always said to be "the unknown" Which horse will maintain his form from the Derby? Which one will give up on the fight for having dealt with a mile and a quarter. Also, how will the "new shooters" favor..? It should be interesting..!
Enjoy the race !

The Preakness is all about speed, so slow starters need not apply. It's got a smaller field of entrants and a shorter track, and the Derby winner generally does well at the Preakness. It's generally a cleaner race with less congestion, as well. I'll be looking to mix in some longshots with Super Saver and/or Lookin At Lucky in my exactas and trifectas...

Yes. Super Saver is a horse that really likes the off-track meaning that he likes the wet and sloppy tracks. The Kentucky Derby was ran at 1 1/4 mile distance while the Preakness is 1 3/8. If it rains on Preakness day you should bet Super Saver on top. If it doesn't your best bet is Lookin at Lucky.:) Hoped this helped.

there will be a smaller field so there will be less bumping.
the surface will be dry and fast which be a disadvantage for the derby winner.
bet your spouse, house on paddy o prado.
