I feel like i get stuck on the topics which seem very broad. Am I supposed to answer with specific events in history or broad generalizations?

Well it depends on which essay--for the DBQ you need to have at least one "fact" (which can really be something that's obvious based on the documents--for example if you read one of Korean leaders being irate in 1953, you should guess that's because the Korean war was going on from 1950-1953 and just mention that).
For the compare/contrast you will need to have a broad generalization in your intro but you have to mention at least 4-5 historical points in order to impress the grader and get as much credit as possible. I know some topics are really broad--one in past years was describe the compare/contrast in two different regions from 600-1450 which is obviously a giant time period, but if you can focus on specific things like the crusades, printing press in 1450, changes in religion/secularization, etc.
For the change over time, it can be more of broad generalization but you will need to have 2/3 facts (and more if you want expanded core)
good luck!

nicely, length skill no longer something. that is all approximately content cloth. you have got a a million web site essay that rocks or a 5 web site essay that sucks. various instructors are easily deceived and picture that length = content cloth, so in simple terms fill 4 pages up with fluff and you win. of direction, in case you have a stable instructor, you are able to desire to make stable factors and actually do nicely on your papers. Now, granted, you won't be able to easily write a million web site and win each and each time. some techniques are too complicated and sophisticated to describe in in simple terms one web site. a stable paper could be written in case you stumble on an extremely deep concept and in simple terms write approximately that one concern interior the direction of the entire paper. that is extra advantageous than in simple terms gently pertaining to many techniques.

Isn't it all multiple choice? It's mostly historic trends in AP history essays from what I've seen. You will need to be able to back up these trends with important historic facts, so know vital ones, but trends are far more important for ap.
