Is Super Saver On The Improve For The Preakness?

According exercise rider Kevin Willey, Super Saver has been active and lively in his stall and relaxed while jogging on the track. Plus, Pletcher said, Super Saver hasn’t exactly looked tired since beating Ice Box by 21/2 lengths in the slop at Churchill Downs.

Also, according Associated Press, Todd Pletcher is breaking one of his own rules in pursuit of a Triple Crown. The Eclipse Award winning trainer likes to give his horses at least five weeks off between races. Super Saver’s win the Kentucky Derby, however, hasn’t left Pletcher much choice.

Super Saver will run on just two weeks’ rest in next Saturday’s Preakness. After finally capturing his first Derby following a decade of trying, Pletcher will gladly take his chances with his energetic star.

“I wish in a perfect world we would have more time but this is the way it’s laid out,” Pletcher said Thursday.

In my opinion..Super Saver seems to have the right style to fit here...being forwardly placed is an advantage over the Pimlico track.

I trust Super Savers connections will do everything right to keep Super Saver strong, healthy and safe. I have great respect for them as horsemen.

I think Super Saver has a real good shot at winning the Preakness, the track is good for him. I don't really like the odds at 2-1, though, so I'll be looking for some good underdogs to pick this Saturday, as well. Still gathering information as of now...
