WHAT WILL HAPPEN????!!!!?

I own a Dodge Ram D150 with a 5.2L 318 magnum. I basically have no exhaust on it from the cat back. I was planning on cutting my cat off. If I leave the cat off and don't put a delete pipe on, will I gain like horsepower or something? I have had so much controversy over this. I've had people say I'll burn the valves up, I've had people say I'll gain horsepower. I know for a fact that I won't burn the valves up. Will I gain any power or anything?

your not going to gain enough horse power on it to be noticeable, one thing that will eventually happen to it though is it will start throwing codes up on the computer and when it does this you,ll notice a big difference in the way it runs,an im not talking to the good either, good luck.

The muffler and compression bends in the exhaust pipe will cause more power loss than the catalytic convertor if the convertor is in good condition and flowing properly.

The valves will not burn up. Valve "float" is caused by weak valve springs not the lack of a convertor.

You will not see a massive horsepower gain but every little bit helps and MPG will be better with a good free flowing exhaust.

Keep the convertor, you're better off in the long run.

ok its not really a question if you will burn the valves or not. it is a fact that if you have stock valve springs and zero back pressure through your exhaust you will float your valves, loosing compression thus loosing hp. if your gonna cut the cat out at the very least put some pipe back on or you will loose hp.

you may gain various horsepower dependent on how much your catalytic converter was slowing your exhaust down. my dad had his cat cut of of his v6 Mazda 626 and it runs better and faster than it did before.
