how can i tell if the instal was successful and if not.........?

when i installed it on my new computer the last prompt i saw was installation complete but still when i open word i get the pop up that asks me to enter the product key. please help.

Update:

thanks chaos. i was using the trial then bought 07. during the trial i skipped the request to enter product key. the instal of the one i purchaseed appeared to complete with no problems but whe i go in the request for the product key still appears?????

    Was this an update or did you install a fresh copy of word. If this is a fresh copy after you install it you have to enter in the CD key and then you're done. Which is located inside the case on a sticker or card. If anything wrong happens during the install the install wizard should tell you if nothing bad has happened it should just keep going.

    It was successful, if you are using it as a trial then skip the product key. If you bought it then enter your product key
