What does it take to host a large scale concert?
I'm a girlscout and am going for my gold award. I want to hold a pretty large scale benefit concert to raise money for a charity. What do I need to do this? Who would I contact to try to find bands to perform? (I am being realistic I'm not going to try to get charttoppers or anything but someone who will attract an audience.) Also if I'm looking for food and drink donations what companies would be most likely to help? Any advice at all would be appriciated. Even links to helpful sites would be appriciated. Thanks!

I would contact the local authorities if I were you. If you're holding a semi-commercial or commercial event, then the list of requirements is longer than a script from your worst nightmare:
- Insurance
- Legal contracts
- Permissions from the local authorities
- On-site fire, rescue, police, paramedics etc.
- Permissions to sell merchandises, foods, drinks etc.
- Some places are required to use members of certain unions
- Sound, lights, staging, rigging, transportation, catering and much more
- People to handle all the technical stuff (sounds, lights etc)
- Security
- Printing of ticket
- Ticket sales
- Book keeping
The list goes on and on and on...
However, since I understand this is local charity thing, I am sure you can get help from your local authorities and that there are other rules and regulations in place.
I would definitely get help from a concert promoter/concert company. This is a major, major task with thousands of little (and a number of major) details which needs to be handled properly. Also a concert promoter can give you tipes as which acts to approach and how to go about it. You will need legally binding contracts etc. unless you like dealing with serious problems...

How a pair of reason that maximum individuals could help? working example, a team of radicals flying Mexican flags and chanting Marxist slogans purely does not do it for many human beings. maximum "activists" those day take pains to make individuals indignant. They positioned forward "motives" maximum individuals discover distasteful (or worse), so why could it is a ask your self that each physique of those efforts fail? it is like those morons who fake like they're going to get popularity of abortion interior the Catholic Church. no longer likely to take place, waste of time....and yet on and on they bypass, exposing the genuine reality: virtually all of it's "activism" for "activism's" sake. No calorie nutrition has no energy the two.
