Can a read/write head in a Hard Drive be fixed?

I took apart my old Hard Drive to see what had happend to it (40gb) and seen that some how the read.write head on the arm had been facing up and hangin on the tip of the arm. What is the safest way to reposition the head back under the arm tip myself?

It can be fixed by a professional with the appropriate equipment and a clean chamber, but you're not going to be able to do it yourself.

And now that you've opened it yourself outside of a clean chamber, you've pretty much taken away any chance of even a professional being able to recover the data for you...

Once you open a Hard Drive its trashed. dust can cause damage to it. You will need another Hard Drive. Never open a hard drive.
