camp fire cooking...?

i know how to build a fire, but if your are going to cook meat do you build it a different way? or use different materials besides wood? like coals or wat???

    You can build the fire the same way, but I usually let the fire die down a good bit before I start to cook things on it because if the fire is blazing it usually won't cook the things all the way through, it tends to just burn the outside.

    Wood is fine, but don't cook anything on the fire until the flames have died down and there's just coals left, same way you don't use a barbecue until the briquettes have a layer of ash on them. That's when the fire has the most heat, when the flames are gone That means you have to have enough wood in the fire so that the coals don't burn away before your food is done.

    ok get a pan and put foil on it and build a little fire under it and then put the meat on it and cook it.
