Bag gloves and training gloves?

ok, i know the smaller, classic bag gloves provide limited protection to strengthen the wrist and fists but what about modern bag gloves? some bag gloves are now 16 even 20 oz. what is the difference in a 16 oz bag glove and a 16 oz. training glove in terms of protection and padding?

Most training gloves are for sparring and are of a lace up variety, while a bag glove, regardless of weight should utilize a velcro closure for easy on/off bag workouts only. The primary difference is the foam used in the padding. The density is different. While a good training glove may have 3-5 layers of different high density foams for protection of the hands against another fighter, the bag glove is designed with altogether different density foams for bag work only. Two different animals. Perhaps a 16oz. training glove could be used on the bags, the bag glove is not designed for sparring. The bag glove will last longer also for bag work, while the foam in the training glove could breakup faster on the bags.
