Can I use coconut milk when making frosting for Bavarian Chocolate Cake?

My recipe calls for evaporated milk and I have coconut milk, whipping cream and 1% milk. If I use the coconut milk will it be too coconutty? Should I just use 1%? Or would some combo of the three milks be best? The recipe includes:

2/3 c sugar

2/3 c evaporated milk

2 egg yolks

1/3 c oil

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 1/3 c coconut

2/3 c pecans

Any help is appreciated!

I wouldn't, can't help feeling that this would ruin a chocolate cake. If you had cream instead I would try that first, or simply use milk. I understand that alot of recipes use evaporated milk instead of cream or full-cream milk to lower the fat factor.
