EMERGENCY! Dog had a head concussion, will he be fine?
I'm taking care of my aunt's dog and about an hour ago, something happened. My sister basically had him on her lap while doing homework and he tried to jump off, but because he was between her and the table, he hit his head on the glass. He also hit the floor pretty hard. And I think he had a concussion or went into some sort of shock, something of that sort. It looked like he wasn't breathing and his muscles got really tense. His eyes also rolled back and he looked dead. I tried to give him CPR ( not sure if I did it right), and rubbed his body to try to keep circulation flowing. It took about 10 minutes for him to regain consciousness. I called a random vet and they told me to take him in today, but my parents really don't care about the dog and they're not letting me. And they just left for work, so I don't have availability to a car. I'd walk to the vet, but I won't make it on time because they close at 6. The dog seems fine now, but I'm aware that trauma may not be arise until later.
Would it be okay to wait until my aunt arrives tomorrow? And I only have $2000 in my savings account(I've been saving for something)...I'm not sure if that's enough to cover veterinary costs that may arise???
Please help, I've never had a dog and have no idea what to do or how much vets charge for this sort of thing. I'm freaking out right now, not just because it's my aunts dog..but because I truly do love this doggy, I've taken care of him since he was a puppy. What do I do????
Thanks so much.

ask a neighbor or friend for a ride QUICK!

I would ask a neighbor, honestly this dog could have serious damage. And waiting could cause more damage like brain damage. If the vets close get an address for an emergency vet. You're Aunt would thank you. The sooner he gets to the vet the sooner you'll know if there is anything wrong with him. Our dog did the same thing sort of but it was because he had an ulcer in his eye and he was knocked out too. We rushed him to the vet and his head was fine but he had to have a $2,000 surgery on his eyes.

Call your aunt and ask her if you can take it to the vet. You might have to take a taxi to get there. You are not responsible for the vet bills though it is not your pet and it was an accident.
Its probably okay now though and just let is rest quietly, but make sure she takes it to a vet tomorrow when she gets back.

Ring the vet back - explain what happened and ask them to wait for you to walk there with the dog!

Just give the pup lots of affection and stay by its side. Just keep an eye out for differences in pupil size, unusual eye movement, bleeding from the nostril, bleeding from the ear canal, seizures, and head tilt. He probably wasn't expecting that to happen and it might have frightened him (anxiety). Maybe put ice on his head?
