Not the worst, but in the top.
It is the worst oil spill though, Its bigger then the Exxon Valdez one.
The company try to make it seem smaller then it really is.
"But two reports published Thursday evening suggested that the amount of oil erupting into the Gulf may be far larger than first estimated. Experts who analyzed video of oil flowing out of a pipe on the seafloor told NPR that the "BP spill is already far larger than the 1989 Exxon Valdez accident in Alaska, which spilled at least 250,000 barrels of oil.""

Already is.
Have you ever heard that more than 400 species of animals are threatened by an oil spill ? I NEVER heard it.
Not counting the precise number of deaths per individual that have been, plus those to come. No other oil spill has been so abundant and irrepressible.
For whom the death of thousands of innocent animals and marine vegetation is not a problem then it is not the world's worst ecological disaster.

It hasn't been capped yet, so it very well may be. I just read that dead dolphins are washing ashore now. I'm equally saddened and angered. I'm going to channel this into figuring out ways to live with less oil, like driving less and less and less. As long as the oil companies make profits, they'll stay in business. Other countries require rigs to meet much higher safety standards. Why is the US always so slack on these issues? As a mere individual there's little I can do, but I can walk to the grocery store instead of driving there and I can move closer to work, too.

Worst environmental disaster ever? I'm not sure. But I would make a guess that its in the top 10.
Worst oil spill ever...? Maybe, The Exxon Valez was bad, but this one could surpass it.

No. Its bad, but it doesn't come close to some other ones.
Its estimated to have spilled around 50,000 tons of oil give or take.
One that occurred during the Gulf War spilled 1,360,000–113,293,207 tons of oil.
But it probably will be the worst one to occur in US waters.

not even close to the worst in history......as was mentioned, Saddam's forces dumped billions of gallons into the Persian Gulf as they were retreating from Kuwait
and China dumps more CO2 into the air every day than anyone else in the world, and dumps industrial poisons just about where ever it want to, contamination millions of acres and killing who knows how many of its citizens.......

It looks like it. Guess what? We (every living thing) are in for more of it unless we get some world leadership.
