I don't know if I'm depressed.?

I'm just not sure., I have an appointment with some psychiatrist tomorrow.

I have suicidal thoughts a lot. I hurt myself before..I don't really know how else to cope. If I could I'd do nothing all day, I just don't feel like it. I just don't think it's normal to be so 'sad' all the time. I read some of the symptoms and I found that many apply to me, and I find myself crying a lot. I have trouble sleeping, some days I barely sleep. I have the feeling of worthlessness often.

My questions, what could I do for the time being? Or for the future? Or suggestions..

Detailed answers greatly appreciated.

Self Injury is often caused by not having an outlet to express the feelings we have. This might be helped by having a buddy you can contact when you feel the urge to SI / SIH.

Puberty can play a part in emotional swings and those swings can be both long lasting and intense. Puberty can continue as late in life as the age of 25. The mood changes and the intensity of those moods can cause disturbances in the ability to sleep also.

What you might benefit from is a worksheet to identify your feelings in specific ways with accurate labels. Define a situation, the emotion, and something that interests you that is completely unrelated and unlikely to trigger an unexpected mood change.

Engaging in social activities can help alleviate some of these symptoms - your mood can be influenced by situations and the people around you, so look for some positive activities you can get involved in where people are happy or excited. Even becoming a sports fan might help.

You might have a hormone imbalance which causes depression. Yet, try doing stuff even thou your not feeling like it, like meeting new people, learning something new, like a tai chi, or a martial art, or something more relax, like painting, craft projects, ect. Get out of your normal life, go to a gym, park a beach. Search what makes you unhappy. I used to be very "sad", cryed about some situatios and about twice I found myself crying for no apparent reason. Then a met new people and that helped me. They became a good source of good humor, and support to me. You have to search within you, because YOU ARE NOT WORTHLESS. You are a human being that needs, to find what you like, and do it. throw yourself out there, and learn new things. Also try eating healthier, if you feel healthy, you'll be happy. Find motivation on life it's out there you just have to find it. Bestest of luck.

yeah I hear you....i don't really think about suicide or killing myself, but I feel down a lot not wanting to do anything or go to school or class. life is full of pain like it is hell on earth but sometimes the sun shines down on you and certain people in your life make you happy...and hopefully that lasts and doesn't go away for a long time
