How do I delete sections/segments/chapters from a DVD?
I had someone copy a home movie of mine from Hi 8 to DVD. Now I want to delete a certain portion/chapter from it and was wondering how do I go about doing this? Can I delete the segment while viewing at the same time through Windows Media Player?

You cannot do it as you have suggested in the question.
You need to have video editing equipment or video editing software in your computer.
You can try Window Movie Maker for simple editing.
Basic Steps of the process...
Transfer the movie from DVD to the computer.
Open it with Windows Movie Maker.
Edit the movie as you want.
Save the Final Project.
Burn the project to a new DVD using your DVD burning software.

Windows Media player can not play DVD. Maybe you can try the VLC media player.
